When you visited the hospital, you undoubtedly saw the many works of art on display. 



Visual arts can contribute to patient and visitor well-being. Art can help the healing process and can promote beneficial reflection on stages of life if it pays attention to humanity, philosophy of life, and human beings in all stages of life in a changing society. Art can help contribute to creating the healing environment that the AZ Jan Portaels wants to provide.

Temporary exhibition

Are you a professional or non-professional visual artist and are you interested in exhibiting your works in AZ Jan Portaels? If so, please contact our art committee at communicatie [at] azjanportaels.be.



The art committee will review your application and may select you to display your work for two to three months. 

Criteria

  • Your artwork should fit the human environment of a hospital and contribute to well-being of our patients, visitors and staff.
  • It should offer relaxation or distraction and can thus reduce stress. It can also, for example, show new perspectives during a dark period; offer reflection, inspiration, recognition, or comfort, ...
  • Paintings should be fitted with sturdy hooks to hang up the works.
  • Your artworks are not insured against theft or damage.
