Dr. Tom Carmeliet, final year physician specialist in training, will join the AZ Jan Portaels Cardiology Department from February 2021 (he is seconded from UZ Brussels).
Dr. Carmeliet is an accredited physician who obtained the degree of master of medicine (Ghent University) in 2015. Previously, he gained experience at UZ Brussels and ZNA Middelheim. He has a special interest in Cardiac Intensive Care.
Dr. Carmeliet conducts consultations in Dutch, French and English.

You can visit AZ Jan Portaels' cardiology department for an ECG, echocardiography, myocardial scintigraphy, exercise tests, Holter monitoring, BD monitoring, coronarography, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and pacemakers, among other things.
