Currently, about 65 volunteers are working at AZ Jan Portaels. They bring added value to the patient and their family by serving as a bridge between the healthy outside world and the world of the sick person. With a volunteer, the patient can talk about ordinary things in plain language. Volunteers have more time for this than a professional care worker.

We also welcome volunteers who prefer to take on logistical or administrative tasks alone. Their assistance supports our staff in their dedication to our care clients.
